Cambrian Village Trust
A ground breaking educational learning resource harnessing
Sport to the National Curriculum
Produced under the “Web based Multimedia” ESF Project
through Adastra Education. Terry Venables, Patron of the
Cambrian Trust in the Rhondda Valley, fronts this exciting
and innovative KS2 learning resource which uses football in
various guises to stimulate learning in the classroom in
Maths, Literacy, History and Geography. This project has
received tremendous acclaim from all quarters in the short
time since it's release in 2006. A short movie was created
reproducing typical footballing scenarios - and a number of
Maths questions emanated from this. A football match summary
was used to highlight litaracy aptitudes, and various
footballing themes were used to further discover History and
geography topics.
This really is quite a revolutionary and engaging way of
using sport to engage children in learning activities, and
is a flagship product for us as we move forward with more
National Curriculum based projects.
This will be of particular interest to;
Educationalists and those involved with developing e
learning applications.
Training companies wishing to "productise" their
Intellectual Property.
Those responsible for developing specific curriculae.
In house HR Development specialists looking for accountable
ways of measuring learning.
Health and Safety, Financial Services and other disciplines
which require constant delivery metrics.
